Meet the Team

Emily MacIver, MACP, RP
Clinical Director, Owner
Driven by a lifelong passion for helping others, I began my journey with an Honours degree in Psychology and expanded into Communication Disorder Assisting. Six years of aiding children in various areas of behavioural, developmental and speech needs paved the way for my Master's in Counselling Psychology.
I promote well-being through evidence-based therapy. Using emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and narrative techniques, I help individuals, couples, and families with various challenges, including anger, grief, eating disorders, relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.
When not working or studying, you will find me outdoors, running, playing baseball, hockey or skiing with my family. It is my children and my husband who inspire and motivate me each day to stay true to my values, beliefs and to continue my journey toward self-awareness.

In challenging times, we often carry thoughts and emotions, overlooking boundaries and communication. Yet, we share the ability to initiate dialogue, embrace discomfort, and create chances for personal growth.
With a lifelong inclination to assist those in need, my education and career have focused on supporting individuals with diverse developmental needs. This commitment led me to earn an Honors Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's in Counseling Psychology.
I aim to assist individuals collaboratively, fostering self-compassion and strategies for altering harmful patterns. My approach merges Person-Centered, solution-focused, and narrative therapies to enhance self-awareness and address relationship challenges, self-esteem, grief, stress, behavioral issues, and emotional distress like anxiety and depression. I'm eager to embark on this journey together.

As a developing counselor, my passion lies in helping individuals overcome challenges and discover their inner strengths. Early encounters and later work with domestic violence and gender-based issues have propelled me toward gaining my Master’s in Counselling Psychology and have deeply shaped my counseling values. With my experience, I am committed to being your ally as you navigate the path to self-improvement, empowerment, independence, and self-identity.
I blend evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapies with multicultural-feminist principles in counseling. Using self-disclosure, empathy, and empowerment, I build rapport. I address a range of issues including relationships, self-esteem, emotional distress, body issues, and gender concerns. My guidance is direct and creative, promoting client-driven change in sessions while anticipating growth over time. Join me on a transformative journey towards empowerment and positive change. Let's start together!
